SESSION 11: Rheology of Emulsions, Suspensions and Foams (RESF)


Materials processing of emulsions, suspensions and foams involve different shaping processes that mostly include a liquid to viscous phase stage for multidisciplinary applications like ceramics, glasses, cosmetics, medical- and biomaterials, foods, films, composites, hybrid materials, etc. The present session RESF is related to the use of rheology to investigate particles interactions with the scope of understanding, optimizing formulation, dispersion and stability of emulsions, suspensions and foams regarding to the further processing of materials and development of original process. The rheological investigations of emulsions, suspensions and/or foams help to researchers and engineers to apply and develop new materials compositions and processing technology. This session is covering both the rheological modeling and rheological methods used for measuring and evaluation of emulsion, suspension and foam flow and deformation behaviors. The emulsions, suspensions and foams which can change significantly their rheological behaviors and properties under external stimuli are also in scope of this session.

Session RESF provides a platform among scientists and researchers both of rheology and materials science including physicists, chemists, mechanics, mathematicians, engineers, students and PhD students for discussion and simulation of the recent trends and achievements in rheology and in materials science.
